York College (Jamaica, NY):  Maya Monroe has been hired as an assistant at York.  Monroe, the daughter of hall of famer Earl Monroe, leaves Seward Park HS where she lead the team to an excellent record over the last four seasons.

Texas A&M Commerce:  Sources have confirmed to BasketballScoop that Adelina Gentry has been hired as an assistant at A&M Commerce.

Winston Salem State: Dee Stokes, head coach, has announced that she will resign at the end of this season when her contract expires.  Stokes, 39, is 17-69 in three seasons at the helm.  In making the announcement, Stokes says that this will be her last coaching job and wants to work in administration at a “Christian school”.

South Carolina State: Sources tell BasketballScoop that SC State has posted a job opening for an assistant.  Visit jobs.scsu.edu for more info.

Canisius: Head coach Terry Zeh has announced the promotion of Beth O’Boyle to Associate head coach.  O’Boyle is in her third year at Canisius and previously was the head coach at Montclair St.

Elizabeth City State University:  Sources tell BasketballScoop that Ayana McWilliams has been named an assistant at Elizabeth City State University.  McWilliams was an assistant at Livingstone College last season.

Seattle, WA:  Phil Lumpkin, longtime boys coach at O’Dea High School died over the weekend.  Coach Lumpkin’s teams won 5 state titles at O’Dea.  Please keep his family in your prayers.

East Carolina:  John Ashaolu has been named the Director of Basketball Operations at ECU.

Saint Vincent College:  Entering just his second season with the bearcats, Mike Iuzzolino has been promoted to Associate head coach by head coach DP Harris.

Blinn College:  Tra Arnold has been named the head coach at Blinn College after having been named the interim head coach a few months ago.  Sources tell BasketballScoop that Arnold has also hired Torrance Hicks as his assistant.

Towson:  Head coach Joe Mathews’ contract has been extended through the 2011-2012 season.

NBA D-League:  Nancy Lieberman has been announced as the new head coach of a new Texas based D-League team.  This is the first hiring of a female as a coach in the D-League to our knowledge.

Eastern Illinois:  Assistant coach Jackie Moore last night.  Please keep her family in your thoughts.

Loyola Chicago:  We hear that head coach Jim Whitesell has promoted Lou Chapman to an assistant and has hired Adam DeMong into Chapman’s old position of Coordinator of Basketball Operations.

Tennessee: Sources tell BasketballScoop that UT has added Dustin Pearl as a Grad Assistant.

Medgar Evers:  Early last week Medgar Evers announced the hiring of Chris Pursoo as their new head coach.

New Orleans Hornets:  ESPN’s Ric Bucher is reporting today that the Hornets have fired head coach Byron Scott.  Bucher adds that the Hornets are expected to announce GM Jeff Bower as the new coach and are expected to add Tim Floyd as an assistant.

BYU: Head coach Dave Rose has signed a new five year deal extending him through the 2013-2014 season.

Cleveland, OH:  St. Joseph’s has replaced girls coach David Murphy with JV coach Marianne Mangan “on an interim basis”.  The AD said that Mangan likely will be within the pool considered at the end of the 09-10 season.

Kansas:  Washburn Rural boys coach Craig Cox has resigned.
