Humboldt State:  D-II Humboldt’s head coach Tom Wood has announced his intention to retire at the end of the season.  Wood has been coaching at the collegiate level for 37 years.

Miles College (AL):  Head coach Christopher Giles has been released and assistant Will Cotchery has been named interim for the remainder of the season.  Giles was 14-81 in four seasons as head coach.

Yavapai College (AZ):  Yavapai community college in Arizona has promoted assistant Eric Fundalewicz to interim head coach and “reassigned” head coach Howard Brown within the athletic department.

Humboldt State:  Longtime assistant Steve Kinder has been named the head coach for the 2010-2011 season.  The AD mentioned that a national search would be conducted at the appropriate time; but they seem quite comfortable with coach Kinder and we expect that he will hold that position for quite some time.

L.A. Clippers:  ESPN is reporting that the Clippers have relieved Mike Dunleavy of his duties as head coach and named assistant Kim Hughes interim for the rest of the season.

Winston Salem State:  Head coach Dee Stokes, who several months ago had announced her resignation effective at the end of the season, has been relieved of her responsibilities.  The Rams are 2-21 this season and have lost 19 straight.

East Central University:  Head coach Terry Shannon has announced his resignation; although he will finish the season. 

University of Houston:  Associate head coach Melvin Haralson has taken a “leave” from the team.  The AD says “it’s personal”; although there are various reports out of the Houston area that this is just the beginning of changes for this program. 

Cowley College:  Assistant Anthony Shavies has resigned.

Indiana State:  Head coach Jim Wiedie has been relieved of his responsibilities and assistant Clint Weddle is serving as interim head coach.

Northern State:  Don Meyer has announced that he plans to retire at the end of the season.  Meyer intends to continue working with Northern State in a fundraising capacity.

Trinity Valley Community College:  Head coach Bill Damuth has been let go following his arrest coming at the end of the game against Blinn.  According to Blinn’s spokesperson on the matter, Damuth charged the officials at the end of the game and was eventually arrested for “resisting arrest” by campus police.
