Dakota Wesleyan: Shane Murphy has been hired as the new head coach.  Murphy was a recruiter for the Principal Financial Group in Sioux Falls, S.D. for the past two years, but prior to that he led the University of Sioux Falls men’s basketball program.

Miami (OH): Jimmy Lallathin has been promoted to assistant coach.  Lallathin had been the director of operations for the past two seasons.

George Washington: Head coach Karl Hobbs has announced the hiring of Donyell Marshall as assistant coach.  Marshall comes from the Philadelphia 76ers, where he was the pre-game and post-game analyst last season.  Marshall retired from a 15-year NBA career in 2009.

Texas-San Antonio: Head coach Brooks Thompson has received a contract extension through the 2014-15 season.

Midwestern State: Christopher Reay has been hired as an assistant coach.  Reay played for MSU from 2005-08 and comes from the New Zealand National Basketball League where he played professionally the past two seasons.

Chaminade: Bobby Keanini has been hired as the new head coach.  Keanini last coached in 2007 with Roosevelt High School (HI).

UConn: Kevin Ollie and Glen Miller have officially been added to the staff.  Ollie will replace Patrick Sellers as an assistant coach, and Miller will be director of basketball operations replacing Beau Archibald.

Wingate University:  Akeem Miskdeen has been hired as an assistant.  Miskdeen was an assistant at Mount Olive.

Mississippi State: Phil Cunningham has been promoted to associate head coach and Marcus Grant has been promoted on the coaching staff as well.  Cunningham has been at Mississippi State for ten seasons and Grant has been with the Bulldogs for the past four seasons.

Binghamton: Ron Brown has been hired to the coaching staff.  Brown comes from Fairleigh Dickinson where he was the associate head coach for the past eight seasons.

Kent State: Jordan Mincy has been hired as an assistant coach.  Mincy comes from South Carolina, where he was a graduate assistant last season.  Mincy played at Kent State from 2005-09.

Arkansas: The Razorbacks have added a job opening for a new administrative position on the basketball staff.  The official title is Director of Student Athlete Development and some of the duties are assisting with the student athlete development program specifically related to men’s basketball student athletes and designing and implementing programs that will focus on “off-the-court” development from a student athlete’s perspective.  This job will mainly focus off the court and deal with mentoring and developing the Arkansas players.

UT-Chattanooga: Katie Galloway has been hired as an assistant coach.  Galloway comes from Ringgold High School where she was an assistant coach the past three years.

St. Augustine’s College (NC): Head coach Lonnie Blow, Jr. has resigned and accepted a position at Old Dominion as an assistant.  Blow was the head coach for the past two seasons.

West Virginia: Assistant coach Larry Harrison has been named associate head coach.  Harrison has been an assistant with the Mountaineers for the past three seasons.

Union University (TN): Trevor Lydic has been hired as an assistant coach.  Lydic comes from Pearl River Community College (MS), where he was an assistant the past three seasons.

Delaware Tech: Larry Banks has been hired as the new head coach.  Banks was an assistant for the women’s team at Delaware Tech the past two seasons.

Cincinnati:  Darren Savino has been hired as an assistant.  Savino spent the last four seasons on the staff at Rutgers and was named interim head coach there after Fred Hill was let go (eventually replaced with Mike Rice).

Tennessee:  Former Appalachian State head coach Houston Fancher has joined Bruce Pearl’s staff as Director of Video Scouting.

Arkansas-Little Rock: Chris Lowry has been hired as the Director of Basketball Operations.  Lowry comes from Lamar Community College (CO), where he was an assistant coach last season.

Mercy College (NY): Adam Parmenter has moved from assistant coach to head coach.  Parmenter has been an assistant coach for the past two seasons.

Pfeiffer University (NC): Michael Gilroy has been hired as an assistant coach.  Gilroy comes to Pfeiffer after spending quality time with AAU basketball programs in Virginia and coaching at George Mason High School in Falls Church, VA.

College of the Sequoias (CA): Luke Vidak is out as the head coach.  COS athletic director Lamel Harris confirmed the decision Tuesday saying the school and Vidak agreed on a “mutual decision” to “go another way” with the program.  The Giants finished the 2009-10 season 16-12 overall, losing in the first round of the postseason, a year after going 16-13 overall. The Giants earned a playoff berth for the first time in five seasons.

Penn State: Tulyah Gaines has been hired as the director of basketball operations.  Gaines comes from San Bernadino Valley College, where she was an assistant last season.

Covenant College (GA): Corey Mullins has been hired as the new head coach.  Mullins comes from Kentucky Christian College, where he was the head coach on the men’s team the past two seasons.

Georgia College & State University: Head coach Maurice Smith has announced the hiring of Toby Wagoner as an assistant coach.  Wagoner moves over from the men’s team, where he was a graduate assistant last season.
