Curt Kassab - Associate Head Coach - VCU

Finalist - 2009 Coaches of the Year powered by Critical Reload

Associate Head Coach Curt Kassab joins Beth Cunningham’s staff for the 2007-08 season following a prominent high school coaching career. He is primarily responsible for team defense, as well as individual player development and recruiting.

In 13 seasons in the prep ranks, including the last eight at Atlee High School in nearby Mechanicsville, Va., Kassab established himself as one of the top coaches in the state of Virginia.

His eight seasons directing the Atlee program were marked by a 174-33 record - an .802 winning percentage – and included a 30-0 record in 2003, when he led the Raiders to the Virginia High School AAA State Championship.

His efforts netted him the Associated Press’ Virginia State Coach of the Year award following the magical 2002-03 campaign.

Head Coach Beth Cunningham tells BasketballScoop that Kassab is “a great coach, a real high energy guy that the players all enjoy learning from.”
